Get a feel for what I'm feeling by listening to one of my favorite recent songs:
1/24/2023 -  It's been another 2 years (Oops!)
Time sure does fly by quickly!  Things have been busy in the skincare studio and I haven't had a whole lot to do otherwise.  I've started to discuss more with friends and family about photos and showing my work off more.  I completed a couple of graduation/senior photo sessions and absolutely love the results!
Just came back from my first real trip in a long time. Puerto Rico! Tropical sunrises and sunsets, rainforests, beach fronts, friends, it was amazing and I'm so happy I could capture those moments not only for myself, but for my friends as well!

12/6/2021 - Oh what a Wonderful World
It has been almost 2 years since my last post, and with good reason, COVID.  My last post was shortly after leaving my job at the hospital and beginning a new journey into the skincare world. My hopes and ambition for traveling and experiencing new things was shattered in early spring of 2020. We all experienced one of the hardest moments in our collective lives and the effects are still lingering to this day.
There are some places that are accessible and some that arn't, while others are restricted still and all we can do is wait and see what happens. I've been visiting botanical gardens around my hometown and there have been some amazing shots that came from those trips. I am hopeful that moving forward things will return back to  a more consistent normal and I'll finally be able to travel some and capture new Moments in Time.

Until then,

12/22/2019 - Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Although this year is almost to a close, there are still so much to be thankful for. I have recently left my job at the hospital and I am now back in school for skin care and I am so much happier now. Traveling should be a little easier now as I am able to take time off when I see fit. Oh the joys of being your own boss!

I've completed a couple newer projects lately, one being the night time photography. I'm happy how it came out and I found myself doing more while on vacation in Tennessee. I will need to get a new camera tripod as the one I am currently using isn't quite as adjustable as I need. I'm also working on getting a better flash kit and some reflectors. Hope to do more with everything in 2020! Can't wait to see what it brings!

08/01/2019 - Updates; I'm still Alive!
It certainly has been some time since I have last had some free time to update here. Ever since the move it has been project after project around the house and in the yard to get everything together, and there is still lots to do! Home ownership is certainly more time consuming that I thought. I'll get around to taking some photos in the field and what not, there are some good vantage points and interesting things to see.

04/20/2019 - Developing
Happy Good Friday to you all.
It has been an interesting past couple of weeks. Between my job and photos, I have been so busy! Add in that we are starting to pack for the move happening here in two weeks, I am not going to have any free time for awhile. But that is okay... I'm feeling SkyWhite beginning to grow!
From the last shoot, I have already received several inquires and tentative bookings. An engagement party, an elopement wedding in the Florida Keys (which I am extremely excited for), and a handful of other opportunities.
I would love to do a little personal traveling to various locations such as national parks, big cities, and such, but that will take awhile before I have the time and resources for accomplishing that. So, for the time being I will be focusing on continuing to develop and grow the company and my skills.
I will get there one day
Just keeping to what I do best for the time being.

04/06/2019 - First Entry
This whole process of developing my brand has certainly been an eye opener as to what I can do when I apply myself. It has been an interesting time for me to find a use for some of my skills that I did not think I would get to use. After several failed commissions with my logo, I finally decided I would take matters into my own hands and created a logo that I am not only proud of, but I feel that it represents me better than something somebody else designed.
The same can be said for my business cards. Although they do not currently have my logo or this website listed on them, they look nice and do the job. I have already begun designing the next batch with all the new information and logo so once I get halfway through my current cards I will most likely order new ones that adhere to my brand image.
I am excited for the next couple of months. I have already scheduled a couple sessions and will be moving here soon to a new home which is exciting in itself. I have been watching YouTube videos about style and ideas for portrait sessions, editing, and more, and I can not wait to apply what I learn.
Here is to learning and continuing to grow!
